INSPIRATION
After many many years of repairing, refurbishing and
upgrading loud speakers I have now, after a lot of design
and measuring work produced my own line of High Fidelity
loud speakers. The design of these has been inspired by
my love of the early BBC designs and many speakers of
the 70’s & 80’s. The main thing that always stood out to me was
how easy they were to listen to. They had body and warmth to
the sound, some were just laid back.
Speakers like the Spendor BC1, BBC LS3/5a and Roger’s
LS3/6 have all influenced my choice of design.
PHILOSOPHY
I’ve never been a fan of modern skinny looking speaker
cabinets with drivers simply recessed into the front.
Whilst a slimmer cabinet with no sharp corners can
provide many benefits I have always found these to look dull
and a little boring. My preference has always been the classic
British looking speaker finished in real wood veneer with a
recessed cover. Classic looking and easy on the eye. After all
these are on show in your home and shouldn't upset the wife LOL.
DEVELOPMENT
My speakers have been developed over a period of about
a year. Going from initial prototypes to the finished product.
A lot of measuring, hours and hours of listening and
adjustments has lead me to finalise what I believe to be
one of the most enjoyable, listenable and detailed speakers
I have heard regardless of music genre. These speakers
have been tuned by ear. Measurements played a critical
role in their development but I truly believe the listening
experience is far more important than graphs on a computer
screen. Personally I feel this design concept which would
have been the norm in the early years of speaker
development has been lost. During the development process
various amplifiers and listening environments were used.
I also had many people’s feedback on them prior to release.
QUALITY
These speakers are completely hand built in house.
Nothing is outsourced! On completion each pair of speakers is
measured, matched and listened to.
These will have consecutive serial numbers and be sold as
true matching pairs within 0.25dB of each other.
Drive units and crossover components are matched during
construction.
Finished in a choice of over 30 veneers and either Danish oil
or Tru-Oil for a deeper gloss finish.
VALUE
Because we are very small and build everything in house to order we can offer our speakers at an incredible value. Nothing is out sourced other than CNC cutting for our cabinets. We don't use dealers so there is no markup to line a sales mans pocket.
I truly believe that you cannot buy a hand built product of this standard anywhere else for this sort of money.
